Staithe Cottage on the River Yare, Bramerton
Staithe Cottage provides a gentle immersion into the rhythms of river life and the timeless charm of Norfolk’s countryside. Whether you are chasing tranquility, adventure, or a blend of both, this private riverside hideaway offers an unforgettable stay.
The cottage is reached via a track through gentle woodland ending above the River Yare and looking across the Bramerton Common out to the marshes beyond.
We think a holiday house should offer something special, something you don’t get at home, a unique stay. The position of Staithe Cottage and the views are hard to rival.
The cottage itself is a quirky blend of old world charm and modern comforts, it is uncluttered but homely so you can instantly feel relaxed, not overwhelmed. Have everything you need and nothing you dont! Whether you are sipping tea in the conservatory at sunrise or curling up with a novel by the fire, Staithe Cottage will be a haven that feels secluded and warmly welcoming.
Of course with all this you might not want to go anywhere but a walk down the steep steps to the Bramerton Common will give you the option to head off on stunning riverside walks. You are on ‘Wherryman’s Way’ a walking track that runs between Norwich and Gt. Yarmouth with some of the most fabulous stretches being along the River Yare, an assortment of marshland, meadows, woodland and riverside villages. If you love a local pub, there are three close by, all riverside.
Bramerton is a small village approximately 5 miles south east of the historic city of Norwich. The River Yare is part of the southern end of the Norfolk Broads. It is a large river running from just outside Norwich, through the city and on to the sea at Great Yarmouth, via Breydon Water. Norwich is a treasure trove with lots to see and do, you will want to visit this fine city more than once!
